Description: Chief Carol Cooper received a five (5) day suspension and was removed from the unclassified "Chief" title and returned to being a Sheriff's Sergeant. She misrepresented completing a background check for the Burlington County Sheriff's Office. She completed a civilian's background check during normal work hours when she was documented as being on vacation. The thoroughness of the background check was brought into question. This incident occurred in August of 2021 and was finalized in February of 2023.
